According to Ayurvedic culture, the Abhyanga ritual begins with the selection of oil, which appeals to the characteristics and physical characteristics of people such as Vata, Kapha or Pitta. Abhyanga is a massage performed on a heated bed, where relaxing massage movements are applied to the whole body with specially warmed oil, and according to the far eastern philosophy, it is a massage performed to purify the soul and body from evils and to convert bad energy into positive energy.
